SINGAPORE — Thirty reports on errant users of personal mobility devices (PMD) and power-assisted bicycles (PAB) have been made through the  MyTransport.SG mobile app as of 5pm on Wednesday (July 31), the day the feature went "live".

The incident-reporting feature is a step up in the Land Transport Authority's efforts to crack down on errant users of PMDs and PABs, amid a rising number of offences and complaints from the general public. These offences include speeding, reckless riding or riding in areas where these devices are not allowed to be used on.

The new feature allows users to submit photos or videos taken of incidents to LTA. On top of visual proof, information such as the date, time and location of the incident, and identification numbers of the devices can be submitted as well.

In response to queries from TODAY, the LTA said the new feature will “facilitate the identification of errant riders”.

To complement these enforcement initiatives, the LTA is set to partner with the Government Technology Agency to install mobile closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the island, it added.

These mobile CCTVs will be rotated across different hot spots in locations such as Jurong West, Punggol, Sembawang and Woodlands, as part of an 18-month trial.
