SINGAPORE - To cater to the growing population of young families living in Sengkang West, four new preschools will be opening in the area within the next three years, said MP for Sengkang West SMC Lam Pin Min.
He made the announcement during a sports carnival held at the Anchorvale Community Club this morning (July 28).
The first will be a new three-bay NTUC My First Skool childcare centre, located at Fernvale block 446A/B/C, and is projected to be completed in December. This new centre will be able to provide 75 more childcare and 20 more infant care places in Sengkang West.
The other three preschools will be managed by PCF and will be opening next year and in 2015.
These new centres will be located at block 330A/B Anchorvale Street, Fernvale block 415A and block 470A/C Sengkang West Way.
Dr Lam also added that suitable void deck spaces within existing estates are also being identified to convert them into potential childcare centres.
Sengkang West is currently served by four PCF centres and three My First Skool centres.
