52-year-old man dies after e-scooter accident at Bedok Reservoir

SINGAPORE — A 52-year-old man riding an e-scooter has died following an accident with a double-decker SBS Transit bus on Thursday (Nov 30) morning.
He was taken to the Changi General Hospital after the accident, and died from his injuries, the police said.
The accident took place at the junction of Bedok Reservoir Road and Kaki Bukit Avenue 1. The police were alerted to the accident at 10.28am.
Photos circulating on social media showed passersby rendering help to the man as he laid on the road. The windshield of the bus was smashed from high impact, while an e-scooter could be seen pinned underneath the bus.
In a statement, SBS Transit said it was saddened by the accident.
“We are currently at the hospital with his family to render assistance as best we can,” said the transport operator’s spokesperson Tammy Tan.
Police investigations are ongoing.
