SINGAPORE — A 79-year-old man, who lived at Eastwood Drive,  is the seventh reported dengue fatality this year.

The patient was admitted to Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital on July 30 and died on Thursday (Aug 4) after his condition worsened, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA).

Eastwood Drive is an active dengue cluster. Operations to kill adult mosquitoes and also to destroy potential breeding habitats are ongoing in that cluster since July 13.

NEA has conducted multiple inspections in clusters and residents are urged to cooperate with NEA officers, to allow them to inspect premises for mosquito breeding and to take precautions.
