SINGAPORE — The Republic of Singapore Air Force's aerobatics team, the Black Knights, promises to wow Singaporeans with their aerobatic manoeuvres in the lead up to the National Day celebrations this weekend.
From Aug 7 to 9, at noon each day, the team led by Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Leong will be performing 22 manoeuvres before the finale in a 25-minute aerial performance above the waters off the Marina South area.
The manoeuvres include crowd favourites such as the Sapphire Fly By and Gull Split, as well as the never-before-seen Double Heart and Dedication Pass. The latter were conceptualised and will be performed specially for the Golden Jubilee, and the team had practised for more than six months for the routines.
Chairman of the Black Knights Flying Display Committee, Colonel Nalpon Patrick Selvan said: "The Black Knights are proud and honoured to be part of the SAF's contribution towards Singapore's Golden Jubilee celebrations. It is also a privilege to perform in front of our Black Knights and RSAF pioneers."
"Our pioneers have contributed towards building a capable and professional RSAF, and we stand on their shoulders today as we continue to fulfil our mission to defend Singapore's skies." CHANNEL NEWSASIA
