Bloggers to hold protest against new licensing rules

SINGAPORE - #FreeMyInternet, a protest against the new licensing rules for Singapore news websites, is due to start this afternoon at 4pm.

SINGAPORE - #FreeMyInternet, a protest against the new licensing rules for Singapore news websites, started at 4pm this afternoon.

Organisers have lined up ten speakers, all of them personal bloggers or writing for socio-political sites. Prominent ones include Choo ZhengXi from The Online Citizen, Ravi Philemon, and Richard Wan from TREmeritus.

The protest, held at Hong Lim Park, is slated to be three hours long, after which Organisers are holding a press conference to talk about future plans.
