Body of 68-year-old man found floating at Marina Bay

SINGAPORE — The body of a 68-year-old man was found in the waters of Marina Bay on Saturday (Dec 25) morning.

In response to TODAY’s queries, the police said they received a call for assistance at Marina Promontory at about 8.25am.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that when officers arrived at the scene, a body was seen floating in the water.

“SCDF rescuers retrieved the body from the surface of the water. The person was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.”

The police said that based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.

“Police investigations are ongoing,” they added.

Last year, a 26-year-old undergraduate and Mr World Singapore finalist was believed to have drowned in Marina Reservoir near the Promontory.
