Boutique employee arrested for theft of luxury watches worth more than $305k
SINGAPORE — A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing four watches amounting to more than S$305,000 from a watch boutique in a shopping centre located along Bayfront Avenue, said the Singapore Police Force in a press release on Friday (May 6).

Upon receiving a report on Wednesday afternoon, officers from Central Division responded to the case and were subsequently informed that an employee was believed to have been involved in the theft.
After follow-up investigations, the man was arrested along Yung Ping Road in Jurong West two days later. Four watches were also recovered and seized as case exhibits, added the police.
The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday with the offence of Theft as Servant under Section 381 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years and is also liable to a fine.
