Car crashes into Causeway water pipe

SINGAPORE — A white Singapore-registered sedan heading towards Singapore from Johor Baru spun out of control at about 4.40am on Monday (June 6) and crashed onto the part of the Causeway that carries the railway track and the water pipes.

SINGAPORE — A white Singapore-registered sedan heading towards Singapore from Johor Baru spun out of control at about 4.40am on Monday (June 6) and crashed onto the part of the Causeway that carries the railway track and the water pipes.

The accident took place on the Malaysian side of the Causeway. The driver, a 39-year-old Singaporean man, is currently assisting Malaysian authorities with their investigations, said a statement from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority on Monday.

According to social media posts and media reports, the accident caused a delay to train services between Singapore and Malaysia.
