The National Heritage Board commissioned clay artists Jocelyn Teo, 31, Oo Xin Man, 23, and Janice Ng, 20, to create a miniature model of a hawker centre, complete with food, chairs, tables and people.

The installation will be travelling alongside the ongoing Our SG Hawker Culture Exhibition, which is also part of the effort to gather public support for Singapore’s hawker culture to be recognised by UNESCO.

The artists took about one-and-a-half months to complete the 80cm by 60cm diorama, working up to 16 hours a day.

It will then move to Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre Central Atrium from Jan 2 to 14, Toa Payoh HDB Hub Atrium from Jan 15 to 20, and Central Public Library Atrium from Jan 21 to 31.
