COE prices for goods vehicles and buses hit record high; premiums dip for large cars and motorcycles

SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices closed mixed at the end of the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday (Nov 23), although premiums for goods vehicles and buses seeing the highest increase ever at S$81,802.

SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices for goods vehicles and buses hit a record of S$81,802 at the end of the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday (Nov 23), surpassing the previous high of S$76,310 set on Oct 9, 2013.

Premiums for small cars (up to 1,600cc & 97kW) or fully electric cars with output of up to 110kW also rose, going up to S$90,589 from S$87,235 in the last exercise.

COE prices fell for the other categories on Wednesday.

Large cars (above 1,600cc or 97kW) or fully electric cars with output over 110kW saw premiums go down from S$115,388 in the previous bidding exercise to S$113,881.

In the motorcycle category, premiums fell to S$12,589 from S$13,189 in the previous bidding exercise.

In the open category, which can be used for any type of vehicles except motorcycles, premiums went down by 2.2 per cent to S$114,009.
