COE prices for goods vehicles rise over 10% to record S$85,119 in first tender under new quota

SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices closed mostly higher on Wednesday (Feb 8), with premiums for goods vehicles and buses rising by more than 10 per cent to a new high of S$85,119.

SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices closed mostly higher on Wednesday (Feb 8), with premiums for goods vehicles and buses rising by more than 10 per cent to a new high of S$85,119.

The latest bidding exercise which ended on Wednesday is the first under an increased COE quota announced by the Land Transport Authority on Jan 20.

The new method for computing yields 309 more COEs for the February to April period, a 3.4 per cent increase from the previous quarter.

Large cars (above 1600cc or 97kW) or fully electric cars with output over 110kW saw premiums go up from S$105,459 in the previous bidding exercise to S$105,524.

In the motorcycle category, premiums also went up to S$11,602, compared to S$11,101 in the previous bidding exercise.

However, premiums for small cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW) or fully electric cars with output of up to 110kW remained at S$86,000.

In the open category, which can be used for any types of vehicles except motorcycles, premiums went down by 1.87 per cent to S$105,002.
