Corridor fire in Eunos extinguished by members of public

SINGAPORE – Using buckets of water, members of the public helped put out a fire that broke out at the corridor of a Housing Development Board (HDB) flat in Eunos Crescent on Thursday morning (April 7).

SINGAPORE – Using buckets of water, several members of the public helped put out a fire outside a seventh floor HDB flat in Eunos Crescent on Thursday morning (April 7).

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the fire involved discarded items outside the flat. No injuries were reported.

The SCDF said it was alerted to the incident at Block 18 Eunos Crescent at around 8.30am. A fire engine, two red rhinos, two fire bikes and a support vehicle were dispatched.

However, the fire was extinguished before the SCDF arrived at the scene. Ten residents evacuated themselves out of safety concerns. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the SCDF added.
