Siblings of children with existing Covid-19 vaccination appointment can get jab at same time without booking

SINGAPORE — Siblings of children who already have an appointment to get their Covid-19 vaccination will be able to get their jab at the same time without the need for an extra appointment from Monday (Nov 7). This will apply to those with an existing appointment on Mondays to Thursdays.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said that this will make it more convenient for families with more than one child.

Mr Ong noted that there has been good take-up since the authorities here rolled out the primary vaccination for young children.

As of Tuesday, he said that some 14,000 children aged between six months and four years have either pre-registered or received the Moderna-Spikevax vaccine while 20,000 children aged between five and 11 years here have pre-registered or received the Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty) booster.

In a reminder, Mr Ong said that parents should take along their children’s identification documents for registration and to arrive at the vaccination centres before 5.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays.

“Do get vaccinated as soon as you are eligible,” he added.

Singapore began offering Covid-19 vaccinations for children between the ages of six months and four years on Oct 25.

At the same time, those aged between five and 11 will be able to receive the Comirnaty booster dose from then.
