SINGAPORE — Travellers from six European countries, including Austria and Belgium, will have to serve a 10-day stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore from 11:59pm on Dec 1, because of their worsening Covid-19 situations, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Friday (Nov 26).
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein and Slovakia have been moved from Category II to Category III of Singapore's country or region classification for border measures, MOH said in a statement.
At the same time, restrictions will be loosened for travellers from 10 countries that are now being placed in Category II, also from 11.59pm on Dec 1: Argentina, Kuwait, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Romania and Thailand.
Travellers coming to Singapore from Category II countries and who are not travelling here via the vaccinated travel lane (VTL) arrangement must present a negative pre-departure antigen rapid test or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test up to two days before arriving here. They must also serve a seven-day stay-home notice at their declared place of accommodation.
Travellers coming here from Category III countries must test negative on a pre-departure antigen rapid test or PCR test up to two days before arriving in Singapore and then serve a 10-day stay-home notice at their declared place of accommodation.
MOH said that it had also reviewed the Covid-19 situation in Belize, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Panama, Peru and Uruguay, and upgraded these countries to Category III from Category IV previously.
This means that travellers from these countries arriving in Singapore from 11.59pm on Dec 1 can now serve their 10-day stay-home notice at their declared place of accommodation instead of at a dedicated facility.
Separately on Friday, MOH also announced that it was extending the travel lane scheme to six more countries: Cambodia, Fiji, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Turkey, which are all in Category II.
