Early closures for 7 North-South Line stations in July

SINGAPORE — Seven train stations on the North-South Line (NSL) will be affected by early closures, as rail operator SMRT ramps up its railway maintenance and improvement works progressively on the line.

The affected stations between Bukit Gombak and Admiralty will close earlier at around 11pm every Friday and Saturday in July, SMRT said in a statement on Monday (June 18).

During the early closures, a bi-directional shuttle bus service 11 will ply between Bukit Batok and Sembawang every two to five minutes in July, stopping at bus stops near the affected stations.

Unlike June's closures, which caused both late openings and early closures at five stations from Admiralty to Yio Chu Kang, the operating hours in July will only be curtailed at the end, SMRT said.

"There will be no late openings at these MRT stations in July 2018, as SMRT has assessed that the additional engineering hours from early closures are sufficient to facilitate the works needed along this stretch of the NSL," SMRT said in its statement.

"As the timings of the last trains to depart affected stations along the NSL are different, commuters are advised to check for station-specific timings on SMRT's trains' website and social media platforms when planning their journeys on affected dates."
