Woman, 80, dies after accident on Tiong Bahru Rd; bus driver arrested
SINGAPORE — The police have arrested a 49-year-old bus driver after a fatal accident along Tiong Bahru Road near the Redhill MRT Station involving an 80-year-old pedestrian.
SINGAPORE — The police have arrested a 49-year-old bus driver after a fatal accident along Tiong Bahru Road near the Redhill MRT Station involving an 80-year-old pedestrian.
In response to TODAY’s queries, the police said that they were alerted to the accident on Monday (Aug 29) at about 10am involving a bus and a pedestrian.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told TODAY that a woman was taken to Singapore General Hospital.
The police said that the woman was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The bus driver was arrested for careless driving causing death.
The Straits Times reported that the vehicle involved in the accident was a private bus.
