SINGAPORE — With the introduction of the Adult Monthly Travel Card, EZ-Link is discontinuing its Season Pass next year. However, current pass holders can still use them till the end of the year, said EZ-Link today (Oct 29).
The roughly 1,000 existing Season Pass holders can still continue to purchase the monthly passes until Dec 1, and weekly passes until Dec 25, the company added.
From next year, these pass holders can choose to use the Season Pass like they would a normal EZ-Link card by adding value to it. Those who do not wish to do so may surrender the card to obtain a refund of the balance value. There will be no refund of any unused period on any monthly or weekly pass.
The Season Pass was introduced in 2009 to provide convenience for those who travel frequently on public transportation, but TransitLink’s Adult Monthly Travel Card is priced lower and it also serves the same purpose, said EZ-Link in response to TODAY’s queries. Hence, it decided to discontinue the Season Pass to focus on serving commuters in other ways.
TransitLink’s Adult Monthly Travel Card first went on sale in March this year. Priced at S$120, it allows Singaporean and Permanent Resident cardholders unlimited rides on bus services and trains for a month.
