GE2020: ‘Longer than usual queues’ in some polling stations, younger voters urged to keep to their assigned slots: ELD
SINGAPORE — The Elections Department Singapore (ELD) on Friday (July 10) morning urged younger voters, who are not accompanying any seniors, to keep to their assigned voting time bands after 12pm.

SINGAPORE — The Elections Department Singapore (ELD) on Friday (July 10) morning urged younger voters, who are not accompanying any seniors, to keep to their assigned voting time bands after 12pm.
This was after it observed “longer than usual queues” in some polling stations in the morning after polls were opened at 8am. This was partly due to the extra safety measures put in place to ensure safe voting, ELD said.
As at 10am, 350,000 voters (13 per cent of registered voters) had cast their ballots at polling stations in Singapore.
The voting time bands from 8am to 12pm are reserved for senior voters aged 65 and above to minimise their interaction with younger voters.
ELD strongly encouraged voters to check the queue situation at their assigned polling stations (http://VoteQ.gowhere.gov.sg) before setting off to vote.
