GrabFood delivery rider killed on the road along Gambas Avenue in Sembawang

SINGAPORE — A GrabFood delivery rider was killed after his motorcycle and a truck were involved in an accident along Gambas Avenue towards Woodlands Ave 8, the police said on Friday (Dec 20).

Photos of the incident that have made the rounds on social media show a motorcycle with a GrabFood delivery bag attached to it lying on the side of the road, and a police tent nearby.

SINGAPORE — A GrabFood delivery rider was killed after his motorcycle and a truck were involved in an accident along Gambas Avenue towards Woodlands Ave 8, the police said on Friday (Dec 20). 

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that the 42-year-old man was pronounced dead by its paramedics on the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Both the police and SCDF were alerted to the incident at 11.50am on Friday.

In response to TODAY’s queries, a spokesperson from Grab said: “We are deeply saddened to learn about the accident and are reaching out to the family to offer our support and assistance. As investigations are ongoing, we are unable to provide further comments.”
