SINGAPORE — Hong Lim Market and Food Centre, Jurong Fishery Port, and Khoi Grill and Hotpot will have to close for two weeks after new clusters of Covid-19 cases were linked to these places.

In a statement on Friday (July 16), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that seven cases have been traced to the Hong Lim Market and Food Centre in Chinatown and the Jurong Fishery Port.

Another seven cases have been linked to a cluster at the Khoi Grill and Hotpot restaurant at Jalan Besar.

Out of these 14 cases, 11 were among the 53 locally transmitted infections recorded on Friday, MOH said.

To break the chain of transmission and allow the premises to be deep-cleaned, Hong Lim Market and Food Centre and Jurong Fishery Port will be closed to all members of the public from July 17 to 31.

Free Covid-19 testing will be given to all who had visited the food centre between July 2 and 16. They may refer to MOH’s website for details on the testing operations.

“All visitors to the premises are advised to monitor their health closely, and minimise social interactions as far as possible, for 14 days from their date of visit or interaction,” MOH said. “They are encouraged to see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.”

Khoi Grill and Hotpot will be closed from July 16 to 30. Staff members and anyone who visited the restaurant have been placed in quarantine and will be tested.
