Dhanabalan's illustrious career

1960 to 1968

1960 to 1968

Joined the Ministry of Finance as an Administrative Officer, where he helped form the Economic Development Board and DBS Bank. He subsequently left the Civil Service to join DBS.

1976 to 1996 Entered politics in 1976 as Member of Parliament for Kallang. Went on to become a Cabinet minister, helming various portfolios, including Foreign Affairs, Culture, Community Development, National Development and Trade and Industry. Also became founding board member of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and Chairman of Singapore Labour Foundation.

1996 to 1998 Chairman of Singapore Airlines.

1999 to 2005 Chairman of DBS Group Holdings.

1996 to Aug 2013

Chairman of Temasek Holdings.

1998 to present Permanent Member of the Presidential Council for Minority Rights.

2004 to present Member of the Council of Presidential Advisers.
