The Career Forward event, which is organised by Mediacorp in partnership with government agencies SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore, will be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre on March 23 and 24.

The free event is open to the public and will be held from 10am to 6pm on both days.

The event will be anchored on four themes:

  • The Digital Economy, which will look at career insights in tech-related fields such as software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, as well as how these sectors drive Singapore's economic growth and global competitiveness
  • The Green Economy, which will offer attendees advice on how to build and navigate a career in sustainability and innovations within the field
  • The Care Economy, which will dive into career options within the healthcare and social service sectors and teach attendees how to develop a career in the healthcare industry
  • The Career Landscape in Singapore, which will educate attendees on how to successfully plan one’s career path, how to network and prepare for job interviews, and the talent outlook in Singapore

The event will be launched by Manpower Minister Tan See Leng, who will be delivering a speech and also be a panellist on the topic of “How employers can empower workers to strengthen their career health.”

He will be joined on the panel by Ms Helen Wong, group chief executive officer of OCBC bank and Dr Bicky Bhangu, the co-lead of Action for Alliance on Widening Access to Talent, which is one of several industry-led coalitions working in partnership with the Government.

Other topics that will be covered over the two days include women’s careers and the glass ceiling, the prospects of careers in financial technology and how to build an impactful LinkedIn presence online.

First-time jobseekers and mid-career switchers may want to visit a career fair featuring a variety of companies across industries such as insurance and finance, information technology and media.

Attendees will also be able to gather information on learning resources and courses available from learning partners to support them in upgrading their skills.
