Kindergarten roadshows roundup
Our reporter Alex Westcott attends the MOE kindergarten roadshows at Dunman Secondary School and Farrer Park Primary School
SINGAPORE - Last night saw the conclusion of the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) kindergarten roadshows, which addressed the plans for the MOE kindergartens which will start K1 classes in January next year.
The five kindergartens will be located at Blangah Rise Primary, Dazhong Primary, Farrer Park Primary, Punggol View Primary and at a community site in Tampines. There will be 120 places at each of the kindergartens, save for the Tampines branch which will admit 80. One third of the places will be reserved for children from lower-income families.
During the roadshows, parents were able to ask questions addressing their concerns regarding the curriculum plans and also discuss the education environment with MOE panel members during the hour and a half sessions.
Information boards were also set up in the school halls to provide parents with an overview of the facilities and teaching programmes that will be available.
Registration for admission to MOE Kindergarten @ Dazhong and MOE Kindergarten @ Punggol View will be between April 8 and 12, while registration for the MOE Kindergarten @ Blangah Rise, MOE Kindergarten @ Farrer Park and MOE Kindergarten @ Tampines will be held between April 15 and 19.
