SINGAPORE — A man will be charged in court tomorrow with the murder of a 23-year-old woman, whose body was found yesterday in a multi-storey car park in Toa Payoh.

The police said it received a call for assistance at 8.19am yesterday. On arrival at the car park at Block 126A, Toa Payoh Lorong 2, they found the woman lying motionless. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at about 8.51am.

The carpark has six storeys, including a roof garden. When TODAY arrived at the scene, the police had cordoned off levels two to six.

For several hours, officers moved around, searching and tagging evidence, including a SIM card and a shoe. An item was also retrieved by an officer from a dustbin in the car park.

Several officers and members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were seen placing markings on the ground on several storeys.

The body was lying in a narrow landing between Decks 3A and 3B of the car park. It was moved away by the police and the CID at around 4pm.

TODAY understands that the suspect was arrested in the evening. If found guilty of murder, the man could face the death penalty.
