Man, 50, and woman, 45, arrested after brawl at Taman Jurong coffee shop
SINGAPORE — Two people were arrested last Friday (Sept 9) for their alleged involvement in a fight at a coffee shop in Jurong.
In response to TODAY's queries on Monday, the police said that they were alerted to the fight at 9.36pm that night.
It happened at 101 Yung Sheng Road.
According to the police, a 50-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were arrested for affray.
The man was also arrested for outrage of modesty.
He was taken conscious to the hospital, the police said.
In a Facebook video uploaded on Saturday, which has over 67,000 views, a man wearing a dark red T-shirt is seen fighting with a woman at an open-air coffee shop.
Another man tries to stop the two but they continue fighting.
At one point, the first man stumbles and the woman falls to the ground while another woman tries to stop him from hitting the first woman.
The man, seen with a bloodied face, then gets up and hits the second woman in the face. She walks away while clutching her cheek.
Towards the end of the video, two police officers are seen in the area.
In another Facebook video uploaded on Sunday, a group of around four people can be seen pushing the man to the ground.
He retaliates and hits back but is pushed to the ground again.
At one point, the first woman hurls a chair in his direction but he dodges it in time.
Police investigations are ongoing.
