SINGAPORE — McDonald’s Singapore has temporarily suspended the sale of its latest series of Hello Kitty collectibles, the Collectors’ set, less than two hours after its online ordering system went live this morning (April 23).
Shortly after the online sale began at 11am, McDonald’s took to social media to address angry customers who were experiencing problems with their online purchase.
In a Facebook post, the company said that the site was functioning, but was taking longer than usual to load due to extremely high traffic.
However, customers who were experiencing problems left comments on the Facebook post, saying they got error messages after making their orders on the site.
One customer posted a screencap of a successful charge to his credit card company, but said that he did not receive confirmation email of the order from McDonalds afterwards.
Approximately half an hour after their initial Facebook post, McDonald’s then posted that they would temporarily suspend new orders, but would “resume sales as soon as possible”.
