SINGAPORE — In a bid to rally Singaporeans and cheer on frontline officers amid the Covid-19 outbreak, national broadcaster Mediacorp on Friday (Feb 21) launched a song titled The Light.

Written by Jarrell Huang, winner of Chinese singing competition SPOP, and The Celebrity Agency (TCA) artiste JJ Neo, the song also features local celebrities such as Daryl-Ann, Desmond Tan, Fang Rong, Felicia Chin, James Seah, Liwani Izzati, Richie Koh and Sharon Shobana.

It was produced and arranged by Nic Lee, the lead singer for mando band MiLuBing.

The song was written to remind Singaporeans to stay resilient amid the coronavirus outbreak, said its writers.

JJ, a singer-songwriter and daughter of former television host Lucy Chow, said the inspiration came when she was feeling unsettled by the current situation. She hopes that it will take Singaporeans through the crisis.

Co-writer Jarrell added: “With it, I hope that we can all be encouraged, see the light at the end of the tunnel, and find the strength to overcome this together.”

The music video for the song features Mediacorp personalities such as Elvin Ng, Fadli Kamsani and Zoe Tay.
