SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that it is investigating two separate workplace clusters among people who work at the Punggol and Toa Payoh bus interchanges.

A total of 36 people infected with Covid-19 have been linked to the two bus interchanges.

MOH said on Thursday (Aug 26) that 10 people working at the Punggol bus interchange and one household contact of a staff member make up 11 cases in the cluster.

At the Toa Payoh interchange, all 25 infected people are workers there.

“All staff of both interchanges will be tested for Covid-19, and all close contacts of the cases will be placed on quarantine,” MOH said.

Earlier this month, the ministry had also detected clusters at Bishan and Sengkang bus interchanges

The Bishan interchange had nine cases while the Sengkang interchange had 13 when MOH first announced the clusters on Aug 14.

The cluster at Bishan has grown to 21 cases while Sengkang has 22 so far.

Singapore recorded 116 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday.

A total of 66,928 coronavirus cases have been recorded here since the start of the pandemic last year.
