SINGAPORE — Singapore has reported nine new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday (Nov 3), seven of which were imported. The remaining two were linked to foreign workers staying in dormitories.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all of the new cases have no symptoms.
The seven imported cases comprise of one Singaporean, one permanent resident, one dependant’s pass holder, two work pass holders, one work permit holder and one special pass holder.
The special pass holder is a 29-year-old Filipino who had arrived from the Philippines to board a ship docked in Singapore as a crew member.
The rest of the imported cases had travel history to Bangladesh, Germany, India, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.
All seven cases were placed on stay-home notices upon their arrival in Singapore where they were tested for the coronavirus.
As for the two cases in the dormitories, they were both detected through the ministry’s fortnightly testing of workers staying in dormitories.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the past week. The case has no known links yet to past cases, MOH said.
