SINGAPORE — Singapore has confirmed 21 new cases of Covid-19, including one that is imported and the remaining 20 are linked to migrant workers staying in dormitories.

There are no community cases on Tuesday (Sept 22).

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all the fresh cases have no symptoms.

The one imported case is a 23-year-old work permit holder from India who arrived in Singapore on Sept 10.

The woman was placed on a 14-day stay-home notice and tested positive while serving her notice at dedicated facilities.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at an average of one case a day in the past 14 days.

The number of cases in the community with no known sources of infection has also remained stable at an average of fewer than one a day in the two past weeks.

Of the 20 new cases involving migrant workers in dormitories, six had been identified earlier as contacts of previous cases.

The remaining 14 were detected through surveillance testing, such as the rostered routine testing and the testing of those with acute respiratory infection symptoms.

UPDATES ON REMAINING CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 57,627.

Of these, 57,262 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, including 21 on Tuesday.

There are still 37 patients in hospitals and most are in stable condition or improving. No one is in intensive care.

Another 301 patients are isolated and being cared for at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.

Twenty seven people have died from complications due to Covid-19.
