Two men, including the NSF, were questioned by the police during their checks at Block 365, Woodlands Ave 1, on Sunday (Jan 20) at around 6.10am.

During the check, one man who had fresh lacerations on his thigh suddenly bolted and fled from the scene, said the police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is an NSF who is wanted for being Awol.

The police said that the man was arrested on Monday along Woodlands Circle and investigations are ongoing.
Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Senior Minister of State for Defence, said in Parliament last year that there were about 28 annual cases of NSF Awol offenders with financial hardships — which made up 14 per cent of all such charges over the last five years — or about 200 Awol cases yearly.
