SINGAPORE — There were no injuries on other parts of Dr Shane Todd’s body nor any trauma to the area of his neck beneath the ligature mark made by the noose from which he was found to be hanging, the coroner’s inquiry hear today (May 16). The pathologist also noted that the indentation mark left by the noose was consistent with a mark that would have been left behind by a death by hanging. These were the factors that Senior Consultant Forensic Pathologist Dr Wee Keng Poh gave for coming to his conclusion that Todd had died due to hanging. Dr Wee took the stand at the Subordinate Courts today, on the fourth day of the coroner’s inquiry into Dr Todd’s death this morning. Dr Clarence Yeo, a General Practitioner who had seen Todd on a number of occasions and had referred him to a Psychiatrist, will take the stand once the Inquiry resumes after lunch.
