Parliament rejects PSP motion to suspend Iswaran as MP, may claw back allowance after CPIB probe if warranted

A long debate over two motions about suspending Transport Minister S Iswaran ended in Parliament voting to “consider the matter” after investigations end
One consideration is Parliament clawing back his salary and allowance “without waiting for legal process” to be completed if he does face charges
A motion was put forth by Leader of the House Indranee Rajah to relook the matter after investigations
Another was by Progress Singapore Party vice-chair Hazel Poa who sought to suspend Mr Iswaran now
Parliament rejected Ms Poa's motion, and her proposed Bill to allow the Government to back-pay Mr Iswaran should he be found innocent after being suspended from his duties
