SINGAPORE — The police are investigating a fight between a man and woman on Beach Road after a video went viral on social media on Wednesday (July 6).

The police said in response to TODAY’s queries that it was alerted to the incident at 9.08am.

No other details were immediately available and it is unclear what prompted the fight.

In the minute-long footage, which appears to be shot from a building’s window above the street level, a woman in a baseball cap can be seen gesturing at a driver of a white minivan that had stopped along the road. The minivan looks to be a taxi.

As the minivan moves off, the woman kicks at the vehicle’s door. The driver immediately gets out of the vehicle to confront her and it cannot be seen if he raised his hand to hit her.

While shouting at each other, the woman tries to kick the man. He retaliates by swatting at her head, causing her cap to fly off. He then slaps her and kicks at her cap that was lying on the road.

Refusing to stop, the woman kicks the side-view mirror of the minivan. As the driver rushes at her again, she loses her balance and falls backwards.

After getting up, the woman kicks the side-view mirror again, prompting the man to run at her again.

This time, he grabs onto her arm and flings her onto the ground. The man drives off shortly after that, but not before the woman makes a last-ditch attempt to push the vehicle's side-view mirror out to an extreme position.
