SINGAPORE — The police are investigating what appears to be a series of incidents where thumbtacks have been found scattered across pavements in Yishun.
In response to TODAY’s queries on Wednesday (Sept 21), the police said that “reports were lodged and investigations are ongoing”.
Videos and pictures circulating online about the incident show members of the public picking up thumbtacks from pavements and a thumbtack lodged in the wheel of what appears to be a food delivery rider's bicycle.
Online posts on the incident allege that the metal thumbtacks have been appearing since Monday.
In one such video posted late on Tuesday, a number of delivery riders are seen pushing their bicycles along a walkway next to a busy road, while a man walking behind one of the riders is seen picking up thumbtacks along the walkway and on the grass verge next to the walkway.
The video then pans to the man’s hand which is full of thumbtacks he had collected.
