SINGAPORE — Police are investigating an incident involving a woman captured in a viral video filming other commuters and making racist remarks on an MRT train.
In the clip, which appeared to be removed on Twitter but has resurfaced on social media, a woman in a pink dress points her phone camera at passengers, asking them what their race was.
Among other things, she was heard telling a commuter after asking about her race that she would “never mix around with you guys because we're so different”.
In response to TODAY’s queries, the police confirmed on Tuesday (April 27) that reports had been lodged regarding this incident.
“A 57-year-old woman is currently assisting with investigations,” they said without elaborating.
Several users on Twitter have dug up older clips that they suspect to have been posted by the woman on YouTube showing people seemingly going about their day in public places.
The woman does not say anything in many of the videos — and most times, neither do the people being filmed — but she claims in the videos’ captions that she was being harassed and assaulted.
