SINGAPORE — A full-time national serviceman (NSF) from the Singapore Police Force was found with a gunshot wound to his head at the police’s Special Operations Command base at Queensway on Monday (Aug 30) morning. He was pronounced dead soon after.

The 21-year-old reported for duty at about 10.30am on Monday and drew his service revolver from the armoury, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.

“He was later found alone with a gunshot wound to his head in a toilet at the Special Operations Command at about 11am. His service revolver was found beside him,” they added.

He was pronounced dead at about 11.20am by paramedics at the scene.

The police said that they have classified the case as unnatural death.

Based on early investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department, the police do not suspect foul play.

“The police extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman and are assisting the family in their time of grief.”
