Seven arrested for prostitution-related activities at Genting Hotel Jurong

SINGAPORE — Seven alleged members of a vice syndicate were arrested on Monday (April 17) at a hotel in the vicinity of Jurong Town Hall Road during a joint enforcement operation between the police and the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority,

TODAY understands the hotel is Genting Hotel Jurong.

Six of the suspects were women aged between 22 and 42. The other suspect was a 49-year-old man believed to be the women’s pimp.

A total of S$6,000 and 272 pieces of condoms were seized from the suspects. One notebook and a mobile phone were also taken as case exhibits.

All six women are being investigated for offences under the Immigration Act and Women’s Charter.

The 49-year-old pimp will be charged on Friday for offences under the Women’s Charter. If convicted, he may go to jail for up to five years and be fined up to S$10,000.
