SINGAPORE — Shoppers on the Qoo10 e-commerce platform will soon be able to collect their purchases from all 342 7-Eleven stores islandwide, the company said.

However, the first phase of the rollout, effective Tuesday (Nov 12), will see the collection service available at 75 7-Eleven stores, with delivery options to all remaining stores to “be made available progressively”.

Available at no additional cost, the new collection service at 7-Eleven for Qoo10 come on the heels of another e-commerce site, Lazada, announcing a similar tie-up with 7-Eleven and Ninja Van’s delivery service.

From Oct 19, Lazada shoppers have been able to designate specific 7-Eleven stores as a collection point for their parcels. The collection service — available at 159 convenience stores — also has a progressive rollout to close to 350 participating stores by the end of this year.8

Qoo10 customers who opt for the 7-Eleven collection service will receive SMS and in-app notifications once their order arrives at the selected store. They will then have 48 hours to retrieve the parcel, by showing the unique QR code provided in the notification to the store’s cashier, for authentication.

Parcels that are not collected after 48 hours will be returned to Qoo10, said the company in a press release on Tuesday.

Apart from the new 7-Eleven collection service, the company said its customers can also enjoy the use of Federated Lockers — a project that is piloted by the Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) — as well as minimise their shopping costs with its in-house delivery service Qprime.

Since September, it has introduced the second phase of Qprime, “a dedicated logistics service that aims to minimise shipping costs on selected products for both buyers and sellers”.

“Through Qprime, buyers can enjoy free shipping on checkouts over S$50, and a single flat shipping rate from S$3.99 onwards for checkouts below S$50,” said Qoo10.

With plans to expand the number of products offered on the Qprime service to one million products by the end of the year, Qoo10 added that it “plans to expand the service to markets such as Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and China” in the coming months.

The company also confirmed that it is now an e-commerce partner of IMDA and will participate in the IMDA-led one-year Federated Lockers and Collection Points pilot at the end of the year in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) towns of Bukit Panjang and Punggol, as well as at selected MRT stations.

“The Federated Lockers will provide Qoo10 customers with yet another secured and convenient option to collect their parcels either along their commute to or from their nearby transport node, or from HDB residential or commercial locations within their estate,” said Qoo10.

“Convenience for our customers and merchants has always been at the forefront of Qoo10’s business, and we are focused on growing a comprehensive, cross-border logistics network across Southeast Asia,” said country manager of Qoo10 Singapore, Mr Hyunwook Cho.

He added: “Leveraging our Qxpress delivery network and expanding on our network of partners, we aim to increase delivery efficiency through cost-effective options.”
