SINGAPORE — Ultramarathon runner Lim Nghee Huat will be taking part in the Brazil 135+ Ultramarathon to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Singapore.

The 61 year-old Mr Lim is the only and first Singaporean to attempt the 281km competition that will be held in Sao Paolo on 14-17 January later this month.

Speaking at a charity lunch this afternoon, the Chinese Television News Editor at MediaCorp said he aims to finish the race in 60 hours — 12 hours lesser than the time he was given.

Guest of honour of the Charity lunch Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin praised Mr Lim for his efforts to raise funds through his runs and encouraged more Singaporeans to be involved personally and do more to make a difference to others’ lives.
