SINGAPORE – SingHealth has raised some S$408,000 for the President’s Challenge 2013, an all-time record since the group started raising funds for the challenge 10 years ago.
Health Minister Gan Kim Yong presented the cheque to President Tony Tan Keng Yam at an integrated family carnival today (Oct 19).
The carnival wraps up some four months of activities by various SingHealth institutions, such as Singapore General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, to raise funds for the needy. They organised activities like charity bazaars, table soccer, and a hawker fare to raise funds.
This year, the SingHealth group effort was helmed by the National Cancer Centre Singapore.
SingHealth has also adopted three of the 55 President’s Challenge beneficiaries – Bright Vision Hospital, New Hope Community Services and Life Community Services Society. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
