SINGAPORE — Singtel TV has secured the Premier League’s broadcast rights in Singapore over three seasons starting August next year, announced the company on Thursday (Nov 22).

In a press statement, Singtel said it has secured the rights running from August 2019 to May 2022, making the company the official broadcaster of the competition in the Republic for 12 consecutive years.

"We are pleased to continue offering fans front row seats to all the action from the English top-flight clubs. Fans can be assured Premier League coverage remains affordable as we will keep prices unchanged,” said Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Singapore at Singtel.

Back in November 2015, Singtel announced that it secured the broadcast rights for three seasons till 2018.

Singtel TV broadcasts the Premier League in addition to the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and eight more football league and cup competitions.

Bundled packages inclusive of football channels cost S69.90 per month.

Singtel subscribers can also enjoy the 380 live Premier League matches each season on the Singtel CAST video app. Those with a valid credit or debit card can catch the action live for S$49.90 per month.

Early last month, Singtel announced that it has reached an agreement with beIN SPORTS to air the live matches of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

This came after StarHub said in late September that it has secured the rights to broadcast both competitions. Football fans had been made to wait for the telcos' agreements on these two competitions, with Singtel earlier announcing a last-ditch deal to broadcast five matches of the Uefa Champions League, barely three hours before the matches kicked off.
