SINGAPORE — Police are investigating a case involving a taxi driver who claims he was assaulted by a group of men on Wednesday morning (Dec 25) near Magazine Road.

Police said they had received a call around 5.50am requesting for assistance and it was established that a case of dispute had occurred.

The cabby was conscious when he was sent to the Singapore General Hospital.

According to the cabby, Mr Sebastian Leo, the incident lasted for about five minutes before he drove off and called the police.

He added that about eight men, who were in the middle of the road, tried to hail his cab but he refused to pick them up as they appeared to be unruly.

Mr Leo said this angered the group of men who then kicked and damaged his cab, and that the men went on to assault him while he was still inside the taxi. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
