SINGAPORE — The wet weather is expected to persist for the next two weeks, while slight haziness could be seen on some mornings, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said on Friday (Nov 1).

“In the first fortnight of November, Singapore can expect moderate to heavy thundery showers due to light winds coupled with strong daytime heating of land areas in the afternoon on six to eight days,” said the MSS.

And on at least one or two days, the showers could start in the late morning, the weather agency added.

The MSS also said that a temporary shift in the winds could bring “widespread thundery showers with occasional gusty winds” between the predawn and early morning on one or two days.

The daily temperature on most days is forecast to range between 24°C and 34°C, although it could reach a high of around 35°C.

The weather agency also said that the accumulation of particulate matter in the atmosphere under the light wind conditions could bring some slight haziness over Singapore on a few mornings.

“Such slight haziness in the atmosphere usually improves in the latter part of the morning as the winds strengthen, which helps to disperse the pollutants,” said the MSS.
