Expenses of Bukit Batok by-election candidates available for inspection
From Wednesday, the public can inspect the returns of expenses submitted by election agents of Bukit Batok by-election candidates Dr Chee Soon Juan and Mr Murali Pillai at the Elections Department (ELD). The documents will be available for inspection for six months, from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, for S$2 for each set. Mr Murali of the People’s Action Party beat Dr Chee, chief of the Singapore Democratic Party, in the Bukit Batok polls on May 7, by securing 61.2 per cent of the votes.

Chinese, US officials to wrap up joint dialogue on cyber-crime
Officials from China and United States will wrap up their high-level joint dialogue on cyber-crime on Wednesday in Beijing. The meeting indicates the seriousness of both countries to tackle cyber security, with US officials particularly eager to build on an agreement forged during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the White House in September that says neither government will support commercial cyber-theft. The two days talks also touched on global supply chain security, transnational crime, illegal immigration, counter terrorism and maritime law enforcement.
