Two bodies found within an hour

The bodies of two men were fished out of the Singapore River and Kallang River yesterday afternoon. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the body floating in the Singapore River, near The Riverwalk in the Boat Quay area. Officers retrieved the body, believed to be that of a man in his 60s, using a rescue line.

The bodies of two men were fished out of the Singapore River and Kallang River yesterday afternoon. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the body floating in the Singapore River, near The Riverwalk in the Boat Quay area. Officers retrieved the body, believed to be that of a man in his 60s, using a rescue line.

About 15 minutes later, the SCDF was alerted to the discovery of a body in Kallang River. The body, believed to be that of a man in his 30s, was retrieved with the help of a boat operated by national water agency PUB.

Both cases have been classified as unnatural deaths and police investigations are ongoing.
