SINGAPORE — Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise will be able to check out cars from the movies when they visit Universal Studios Singapore (USS) next week. USS announced this today (Mar 18), as it marked its fifth anniversary.

The attraction will also stage its Halloween Horror Nights event on a larger scale, targeting more nights to be added to the calendar.

In addition, two rides will be up and running in the second quarter of this year. One of them is the earlier announced Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, developed together by Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), DreamWorks Animation, and Universal Parks and Resorts.

“The ride vehicle’s a nine-passenger vehicle which we think is very special because it allows the entire family to be able to ride together. When we get that open in the near future, I think it’s going to be a great addition for us to have another attraction that can be experienced by everyone,” said Mr Mr John Hallenbeck, Senior Vice President of Attractions at RWS.

Existing roller coaster ride Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon will be reopened, after being shut for nearly two years. The world’s tallest dueling roller coaster will have a two-seat design instead of the previous four-seat ride vehicle.

SPECIAL RIDE FOR FIRST FAMILY IN LINE

In celebration of USS’s fifth anniversary, the first family in line today received a special treat of being driven into the park while flanked by popular characters such as the Minions, Elmo and Cookie Monster.

The winners of this opportunity, Mr Joshua Pua and his family, were presented with a large gift hamper during the park’s opening ceremony.

“We were very excited. Actually, we planned to come as well, because it was a school holiday, as well as to celebrate her (his daughter’s) birthday last week,” said Mr Pua.

“The next five years we’re excited about as well - just continuing to do new and creative programming - whether it be shows, attractions or whatnot, always providing that exemplary service that our guests expect, and we’ll continue to strive to be the best in Singapore,” said Mr Hallenback.
