SINGAPORE — An “unruly” passenger who made multiple requests for alcohol on board a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight from Bangkok to Singapore on Tuesday (Nov 8) was handed over to the auxiliary police upon arrival at Changi Airport.

A video clip of the incident, which showed the man repeatedly using vulgarities on a cabin crew member, has since gone viral on social media platform TikTok.

In response to TODAY’s queries on Wednesday, SIA said that the male passenger was behaving in an unruly manner during the meal service on board flight SQ711.

“After his multiple requests for alcohol, our cabin crew assessed the situation and politely declined to serve him alcohol to ensure the safety of the other customers on board the flight,” said SIA.

The passenger, however, did not comply with the safety instructions from the cabin crew and caused “annoyance and inconvenience to the other passengers on board”.

He was then handed over to the auxiliary police upon the plane’s arrival at Changi Airport.

SIA said that the safety of its customers and staff members remains its top priority, and apologises to all customers on board the flight “for the inconvenience caused by this incident”.

In a 90-second video that was shared by TikTok user simplyhappy777, a Caucasian man appears to be arguing with a male cabin crew member.

The passenger, dressed in a bomber jacker and a black cap, appears to be raising his voice and demands for water from the cabin crew.

“You actually think I’m going to listen to you,” the man said to the cabin crew member.

The man then appears to raise his voice to the crew member and said: “Why you don’t give me f***ing water, you f***ing idiot.”

He also appears to be mocking the crew member who was attempting to calm him down.

The man is also heard in the video telling the crew member to "f*** off" and that "I'm going to push you over”.

Both men were standing along the aisle while other passengers were seated. TikTok user simplyhappy777 said that this exchange happened after the plane had landed at Terminal 2 and the seat belt sign is still on.

A short while later, two auxiliary police officers are seen in the video escorting the man out of the plane to the applause of other passengers.

The video has since garnered close to 929,000 views and over 5,000 shares on Wednesday night.
