Vaccinations will be administered from Dec 1 to 31, 2020 at selected dormitories, Health Promotion Board regional screening centres and on-site or regional medical centres.

SINGAPORE — Employers here will be given the opportunity next month to vaccinate their migrant workers against influenza, the Ministry of Manpower said on Monday (Nov 9).

The one-time flu vaccination exercise is open to all migrant workers in the construction, marine or process sectors.

The vaccinations are also open to all migrant workers in other industries staying in dormitories.

The exercise aims to “protect workers who may be at higher risk of infections” during the year-end flu season, MOM said.

“Vaccination will help reduce the numbers of workers needing medical leave for flu or flu-like symptoms, minimise work disruption for employers, and result in fewer workers presenting with acute respiratory illness symptoms being assessed for possible Covid-19 infection,” it added.

Employers may register their workers for an appointment at MOM's website from now until Nov 30.

Each flu shot costs S$25.

Vaccinations will be administered from Dec 1 to 31 at selected dormitories, Health Promotion Board regional screening centres and on-site or regional medical centres.

The exercise is organised by the Assurance, Care and Engagement Group, a division of MOM that was formed in April to support migrant workers and dormitory operators.

All employers are encouraged to arrange for their workers to be vaccinated, MOM said.

“The fight against infections, including Covid, is a shared responsibility among everyone,” it added.
